Today was our last full day in Mexico. When we met up with the Baumgartner’s
at breakfast Tami mentioned that she was thinking of taking her kids swimming
with the dolphins. When we were in
Cabo San Lucas earlier in the week we saw people parasailing so I asked my
girls which they’d rather do. Both
agreed that they’d rather go parasailing.
We spent most of the day enjoying the pools and deciding what final
excursion to take the kids on.
Finally it was decided we’d take the kids parasailing. Katie and Drew stayed back with
Justin since they’d likely be too young, light, or frightened to do it. I’d never been so I was excited for the
adventure. Unfortunately, after
traveling all the way into Cabo San Lucas we learned that all parasailing had
been cancelled today due to wind.
Major bummer!
The kids were disappointed, but quickly got to
enjoying the beach.
The beach activities were starting to wind down so
Tami tried to get us a last minute deal on a banana boat ride. I don’t think the guy budged much in
price, but in the end it was cheaper than parasailing would’ve been so the kids
loaded up on the banana boat and we took off.
The captain threw the riders off just once. The kids loved it!
Man, it took them a long time to get everyone back on that banana.
This must have been the gentleman that Carly said
sat on her hand and was losing his swimsuit – yuck!
It ended up being a fun afternoon after all. We’d
already missed our dinner reservations back at the resort (Justin and Mike took
the two littles) so we took our time heading back and bought some Mexican
candy in the local grocery store and enjoyed some ice cream before eating in
the buffet back at the resort.
Our flight home didn’t leave until late morning the
next day so we had plenty of time to enjoy breakfast and finish packing up.

week

While we waited to board the plane the kids played
some cards…
Adios Mexico!! (And sunshine!)
We had a short layover in Los Angeles and then it
was back to Seattle. A huge
snowstorm had hit Seattle the day before, closing I90 and the parkway – thankfully
we missed the mayhem that caused, but there was still plenty of snow at our
house.
