On Saturday, June 1st we
attended our community bike rodeo.
Drew spent the whole time asleep snuggled close to me in the Baby Bjorn.
We filled our
bellies with FREE hotdogs, chips, popcorn, homemade rootbeer, goldfish, and
cotton candy. Jason and Katie got properly
fitted for their free new helmets.
And then we waited, and waited, and waited in line for the kids to get
their faces painted.
Jason knew
exactly what he wanted as we waited in line – he was going to request a tiger
face. Justin kept bugging him
about going with some freakishly scary face instead, but thankfully Jason stood
his ground and insisted he wanted a tiger.
Once the lady got
started though it was clear he wasn’t getting a cute little tiger.
Katie also knew
exactly what she wanted. I tried
and tried to convince her that she should get a beautiful, sparkly butterfly
painted on her face, but she held firm.
I was impressed with how tolerant she was as she was getting it done.
She wanted a
puppy face
Carly’s end result
was my favorite, she looked awesome!
Abigail went with
a cute rendition of cookie monster.
The face painter had never done one before and took a picture of Abigail
to add to her portfolio.

Very cute faces! With or without the paint.
Where are the pictures of Jason's bike?! That is my favorite part--his "ghetto" (as you have referred to it) bike. It cracks me up because Truman also rides a pink and purple girl tricycle. He doesn't care, but Matt has threatened to take a can of paint to it too. Poor boys with older sisters. What can you do?
