Camp Zarahemla

The past few days were just what we needed. A weekend camping with friends – no internet, no phone service… just a relaxing low-stress weekend. Since this was the first year we broke tradition by not camping over memorial weekend, this was our first camping trip of the year. We were very excited that the Biddulphs included us in their plans. We actually got to stay in one of five cabins right on a lake. The cabin was plenty warm and it even had electricity.

Justin took the kids out on the lake a few times. Within the first few minutes they had a little run in with a log, but it didn’t take Justin long to get them going once again.

This was Katie’s first camping trip and she did awesome and slept great. It was great to have some “big kids” around that wanted to hold her.

Unfortunately there was a burn ban so that put a little damper on roasting marshmallows and gathering around the fire at night too keep warm. Instead the adults congregated around the lantern after the kiddos were all in bed.

Tracy kept her feet up after a close encounter with the local wildlife.

On Saturday most of the group went on a hike.

Carly was excited to tell me all about crossing the river on a log with her Dad.

Several girls put together a skit for the talent show... it was certainly interesting, but it was great to see Abigail being willing to participate.

We had a great weekend!! Now back to reality…
