Soccer

In addition to the busyness that comes from buying and selling a home, we've been busy the past 2 months with twice weekly soccer practices and Saturday soccer games - times two soccer players, minus a dad who was working very long hours at work, plus the rainy fall season of the northwest and an infant that needs to sleep often, equals more chaos than this mom prefers. But the girls had a lot of fun and I really do enjoy watching them play. Both girls are great athletes and play hard, always giving it their best.

This was Abigail’s third season playing with the same team and once again they were undefeated. How we are ever going to find another team this great I don't know. This year she played teams from Maple Valley, Federal Way, Kent, and Auburn. There's just no way around it; her team was awesome.

Many of Abigail's teammates were also on Abigail’s basketball team last winter (also undefeated). We decided to have Abigail skip basketball this winter since we don't know how long we will be here. It was a hard decision because she was given the opportunity to play on a junior basketball team for our girls’ high school team (the 2010 state champions). It's hard to walk away from the friendships we've developed with these girls and their families.

Carly also had a fun soccer team and a great coach. And get this... they won all but one game (I think one game was a tie but Carly swears they beat them by one goal)... Of course winning isn't everything, but it sure makes it more fun.

Carly is known for always having a smile on her face. She loves the game and enjoys being on the field. Her coach often pointed out what a great attitude Carly had.

Saturday afternoon we celebrated with Carly's team at Dairy Queen. Even though she was new to the team this year she felt very comfortable and developed some really close friendships.
