Soccer Wrap-Up

Can we please put this soccer season behind us already?  Seriously, our final game was the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  In my opinion, playing til the end of November is way to late in the season for the kids (and the parents that want to be there to support them).  There wasn’t even any daylight left to hold practices the last week or so of the season.  With three kiddos playing this year and a husband swamped at work made for an even longer season for me.  Glad they got to play, but glad to be done!

Abigail played with a new team this year.  Justin keeps saying that she’ll reach a point where her build and/or size will no longer enable her to be one of the strongest players on the team – were not there yet.  She continues to be a force to contend with on the field.  

At Abigail’s end of the season party she was given the “magician” award because she could score some of the most unbelievable goals.  Shots like this.

Instead of the standard issue reversible green/white jersey the younger teams have – at this level the teams order uniforms with their names on it – fancy, smancy.

I wish I could remember all the complimentary things her coach said as she spotlighted Carly at the end of the season party.  She told me many times during the season that Carly was one of the sweetest well behaved players on the team.

Abigail was asked to play on a competitive basketball team this winter.  She’s already practicing 2-3 times a week and games will start up next Saturday.   It sounds like Carly would like to play basketball again this year as well.  Not necessary looking forward to having sports again every weekend, but it’s only a few months and should be fun to watch.  And it’s indoors :)
