November Miscellaneous

Nov 3 & 4:  Drew started taking off his pajamas during the night back in October and would wake up so cold.  The solution?  Put them on backwards.

Nov 9:  Drew LOVES “hoop” and “ball” His nursery leaders inform us he doesn’t play with any other toys.  The kid has a good arm.

While we’re on the topic of Drew – as of November 22nd he is two and half years old {insert sad face}.  He refers to me as “Mom” or “Mommy”, Abigail as “Abby”, Carly as “Ahh”, Jason as “Eee”, Katie as “Eee”, himself as “ME!” and Justin as “Da-Ve”

And yes, I totally called him Jason

Nov 10:  The beehives created videos for youth this evening and Abigail borrowed my phone to take a picture of her and Nicole in character.  Who would’ve thought when this girl was a shy little toddler that she’d become such a ham? Love her!

Nov 11:  There’s been talk amongst local friends on Instagram about the deliciousness of George’s Bakery in downtown North Bend.  We took advantage of us all being home on Veteran’s Day morning to give it the Fletcher taste test.

It exceeded expectations for sure and I dare say it may be the best chocolate frosting I’ve had in a long, long time – maybe ever?

Nov 15:  Family movie night featuring “Inside Out” with Chicago mix popcorn served in our generously sized Dickey’s Big Cups. Two thumbs up!

Nov 18:  A much needed second computer arrived in a box filled with packing peanuts – Oh, JOY! 

Katie’s curly hair was an experiment with old nylons gone right.  She didn’t dig it at first, but as the day progressed I think she ended up liking it.  Cutie in curls!

Nov 19:  Band Concert for both Abigail and Carly.  Carly is playing the clarinet this year and is doing fantastic.  This is Abigail’s fourth year playing the flute.

Nov 20: Justin had to work from home today, which allowed me to go to the girls first quarter awards ceremony without having to bring any littles with me.  Middle school was an adjustment for Carly for sure and there were a few subjects she struggled with in the beginning, especially her advanced math class.  She was still getting good enough grades, but we were surprised when she was able to pull out a 4.0 in her first term.  She worked so hard for that.

Abigail continues her 4.0 standing and also earned herself Student of the Week and Athlete of the Month (for volleyball).  At the awards ceremony she was also awarded Student of the Month for November – an award not given in advance of the ceremony.

Two of her besties were also athletes of the week for volleyball.

Nov 25:  After bowling with the Tolman’s we dropped the kids off at home and went to the LeeMaster’s for Pie Night.  Oh, the brilliantness of pre-Thanksgiving PIE NIGHT!  Traditionally pie is served on Thanksgiving after everyone has stuffed themselves with turkey and fixings and it doesn’t quite get the full appreciation it deserves.  To enjoy the pie completely on it’s own before the big turkey day was perfect.  Camden is an amazing baker and had made, if I recall correctly, NINE pies for the evening and then each guest brought a pie as well.  I took this picture when we arrived and there were still many pies that arrived later. 

It was amazing and wonderfully delicious.  We left full and happy and already looking forward to next year.

Nov 26:  Justin’s parents had us over for Thanksgiving dinner this year.  The spread was yummy and the kids had a great time hanging out with their grandparents. 

We had much to do at home that evening as we were leaving for HAWAII bright and early the next morning!!
