Carly’s Soccer Season Wrap-Up

Carly loves playing soccer.  Unfortunately, she hasn’t been as lucky as Abigail was in playing with a strong team.  Her team won about half of their games, but Carly never felt she could rely on her team to pick up a pass and follow through with it.  I suppose we could have found a higher level of competition in the select teams, but neither us nor Carly was ready to commit our lives to one single sport.  This will be her last year playing recreation soccer since the games will move to Sundays next year.  She has one final season this spring playing for the middle school and then she’ll need to decide between soccer and volleyball at the high school level.

It was a strong season for Carly.  She is a tough player.  Her coaches loved her cause they could put her anywhere on the field and she would excel.  Here’s what her coach said about her at the end of the season, “Carly is everywhere, all the time.  Her casual, unassuming style frustrated our opponents as she fluidly moved through their team, creating offensive opportunities.  Center-mid is one of the toughest positions to play, due to the stamina and leadership required, but she owned it with no complaints and continually impressed.”  Impressive, right?

We like playing on nice turf fields especially on a beautiful sunny day.

I think these next three pictures are pretty fun – watch the dark haired girl on the right in the first two pictures.  Carly has no problem plowing through anybody and then the redhead giving Carly a knee – no biggie.
