Our 2020 Christmas Card

 

While 2020 has been a year like no other, we are grateful for good health, steady employment and more family time. Here are a few things worth noting from our year:

 

Justin was busier than ever with the T-Mobile merger deal with Sprint. We’ve enjoyed having him working from home since March and look forward to things slowing down and having more time together over the holidays.

 

Holly is a homebody by nature so quarantine life was right up her alley.  The slower pace of life and lack of most extracurricular activities has allowed her to tackle several household projects and start weekly tennis lessons with Carly and Jason this fall.  

 

Justin and Holly had good timing for a trip to Maui in February.  Instead of traveling internationally this summer our alternative plan landed us in Sunriver, Oregon where we floated the river, rode bikes, hiked at Smith State Park, and played at the water park. 

 

While social distancing we played every board game in our house and found some new and old favorites to play on repeat.  We spent countless hours working on a massive Lego endeavor and the kids practiced their culinary skills by cooking a family meal each week.

 

Abigail graduated high school concurrently with an associate's degree from Bellevue College and is now living in Provo, Utah attending Brigham Young University.  Most of her classes are online, but she’s loving the independence of living on her own.

 

We added a 4th driver to the family when Carly turned 16 in March.  Carly is a junior this year and started the running start program at Bellevue College this fall.  Her classes are all online which has allowed her the flexibility to take on several nannying jobs.  

 

Jason has grown over 6 inches, passing Carly, Holly and Abigail and his shoe size (14) surpasses his age (13).  Jason (8th grade), Katie (age 10, 5th grade) and Drew (age 7, 2nd grade) have also been doing online school since March.  They miss seeing friends at school and participating in sports, but thankfully they’ve adjusted easily to all the changes and have done awesome keeping track of their various zoom calls and assignments. 

 

2020 turned out nothing like we expected or planned but we are thankful for the memories that were made.  We appreciate having you in our lives and hope this holiday season brings peace to you and yours!
