Hawaii – Day 6: Moving Day

Today our five days at the Honua Kai came to an end and it was time to move down the road to the Sheraton Black Rock.  We spent the morning gathering up all our stuff and then decided to spend a few last hours down at the pool before heading out.

We ate lunch in Lahaina at Aloha Mixed Plate, a casual outdoor restaurant right next to the beach.  We enjoy good food and this was another great find.  Since we were so close to Ululani’s we let the kids share another shaved ice.

Our last five nights were spent at the Sheraton Black Rock.  We earned enough points on a credit card to stay completely free – they even gave us a free upgrade to a ocean view room with a little more space.  We were nervous about having six people in one room (with two double beds), but it ended up working out fine.  Abigail and Carly shared the second bed, Jason slept on the floor, and the hotel had a crib we could use for Katie.  Another drawback to staying in a hotel vs. a condo was we no longer had a full kitchen.  There was a mini-fridge though so we were able to have milk for breakfast, and cheese and meat on hand to make sandwiches for lunch.  Once checked into the Sheraton we had to check out the pools.  They have a fun slide and all the various pools are connected by rivers.
