Couples Weekend in Seabrook, WA {June 6-9}

Back in November 2018 there was a lot of talk with our Auburn friends about going on a couples trip together.  Tracy was the initiator (per usual).  We’d even gotten as far as selecting a location:  Costa Rica and Dates:  May 2019.  Several weeks of discussion was involved and it seemed there were several couples committed, but one by one they started dropping out and in the end we decided to bag the whole idea.  So sad. Just a few months later though, during Snowmaggeddon, our family booked flights to visit Costa Rica in December 2019 and Tracy once again reached out to the group proposing a less expensive and closer to home alternative on the coast in Seabrook, WA.  There were originally seven couples committed to coming, but the Hatch’s dropped out and Jackie Tew ended up coming solo.

We each prepared one meal during the weekend and we ate out 2-3 times.  It was a weekend full of good food and great friends.  We had some rain our first day or two.  We left the house on the first night to catch the sunset on the beach and got caught in the rain.  Of course the rain let up as soon as we got back to the house.

We’ve driven through Seabrook a few times and I’ve looked into staying there more than once so I was happy to finally get a chance to experience it.  The town is adorable – it’s only perfect little world – very Truman Show like.

The weather was nice enough to go down to the beach on Saturday.  Not sure why I was cozying up with Jared in this photo, but there was a story there…

Jared and Kirk did some fishing.  The rest of us circled up and chatted.  PNW beaches aren’t usually very warm and there’s usually a chilly breeze so it got a little cold.  A lot cold for the Biddulphs who are used to Arizona temperatures.

The house Tracy rented was perfect.  There was some drama about the possibility of some couples needing to share rooms, but everything worked out well.

I always love reuniting with friends from our days in Auburn.  These friendships are some of my most cherished and I’m so grateful to Tracy who has helped keep us in touch by organizing past girls trips.  We missed the few that weren’t able to come but hope they will join us next time!
