Memorial Weekend

We had Friday, May 25th off of school since we didn’t need to use a snow day this winter so that gave us a four-day Memorial weekend.  Justin and Jason were off to Utah for the BYU Father-Son’s Sports Camp (more on that to come). 

Abigail babysat a new family on Friday morning while the rest of us joined up with the Adventures with Kids interest group from our ward at Kesley Creek Farm in Bellevue.  I’ve heard of this cute little farm before, but this was our first time visiting.  First we had to check out the animals…

Besides the goats and chickens we checked out some rabbits, and sheep - not too exciting. There was touch garden, which has the softest plants I’ve ever felt.

Katie and Drew spotted the playground right when we pulled in to the parking lot and we’re most excited about getting some time to enjoy it. 

We spent over an hour at the playground and then hit up Chick-fil-A for lunch and ran a few other errands before we had to get home for Carly’s babysitting gig at 3:30pm.

On Saturday we met up some friends from Auburn to hike Twin Falls.  Drew took off leading the pack so we were already up the trail when the group decided to take a picture.

It had been 6 years to the very weekend since the last time I hiked Twin Falls (Justin and the kids have been since).  It’s a nice hike and it was fun to do with friends, though I spent most of the time keeping tabs on Drew and Katie instead of visiting with friends.

After the hike we all drove over to Rattlesnake Lake to enjoy the rest of afternoon together and eat yummy food.  We brought the inflatable chair thing Jason got from my Mom for Christmas so we could try to figure it out.  After many attempts from we finally got it full enough to sit in.  It was fun until it popped. :)

We also brought Slammo, which was fun.

Carly had a babysitting gig that night so I had to leave a bit early to get her home in time.  Abigail stayed to hang out with Linsey and Alyssa and then they ended up coming over to our house to hangout afterward.  Love that these girls can so easily reconnect even when they don’t see each other very often.

On Monday Carly and I went into Bellevue to get her haircut.  Justin got a free haircut coupon years ago at an upscale salon in Bellevue Square and we decided to finally use it.  Carly had been hemming and hawing about how much she wanted to cut off so neither of us really knew what she’d come out with.  She ended up cutting off 8 inches.  Pretty girl!
