A lazy morning this morning. With a new pile of books the kids spent quite a bit a time reading and there was of course some game playing as well. It was nice because I was able to get some things done in the office without interruption. In full disclosure I was catching up on my shows while editing pictures. It was blissful.
We had leftovers today for lunch to clear up some space in the fridge. Several years ago we were given a small fridge from one of Justin’s co-workers. It had been sitting in the garage since. We finally got it plugged in and it’s been quite handy for this time of quarantine.
Eggs were on sale last week so we stocked up!
This morning I received an email from Jersey Mike’s informing us that all orders were half off through Sunday. Jersey Mike’s, in my opinion, is much better than Subway or Blimpie and they rarely have any discounts so we couldn’t pass it up. We decided Justin would pick up four giant subs for the family for dinner.
Katie and I spent several hours in her room today going through clothes. Her clothes situation is the trickiest because she gets hand-me-downs from both Abigail and Carly as well as some uni-gender stuff from Jason. And then when she’s done with clothes we have to decide whether or not those clothes get donated, sold, or saved for Drew. So where she’s a size 10 now, we had size 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, adult small, and adult medium clothes to sort through and organize. It was such a process! We still have to organize the rest of her knickknacks - hopefully we can tackle that soon.
Carly and Jason went for a bike ride this afternoon. We’ve had quite a bit a rain this week so they came back quite muddy but it sounds like they had a good time and I love to see the kids getting out and doing something active.
After dinner we watched a short video clip on the story of Enos after which we decided to watch a family movie. It’s hard to find a movie that appeals to everyone in the family so in the end we decided to trade turns and let Drew decide what we would watch tonight. He chose “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids”. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen that, and technology sure has come a long way, but it wasn’t too bad overall.
- March 26: More than 133,000 people in Washington filed for unemployment benefits in the previous week. It was announced a record 3.3 million Americans filed new unemployment claims nationwide. State Department of Health numbers rose to 147 deaths from 3,207 cases. The United States overtook all other counties for the number of confirmed coronavirus cases. New York had the highest number of cases in a state with 519 deaths from 44,635 reported cases.
